An all too common occurrence in amateur soccer plays out like so: Somebody takes the time and effort to organize and register a team, and fronts the registration fees. But the reimbursement from fellow players sometimes never comes or the whole act is like dispossessing Barcelona of the ball – difficult. Wouldn’t it be great if there was an app for that?

Enter Bluefields.com, a new platform dubbed as a “Groupspaces for amateur football”, hopes to help team managers keep a better collective grasp on the team through social tools. That means dealing with player availability and collecting money for the team. This is achieved through several channels including email, SMS, Facebook and two mobile apps on Android and iPhone.

Further complimenting the effort is the ability to receive payments via the apps available. Bluefields was recently given a boost to the tune of 100,000 quid in funding including cash from ex-Sheffield Wednesday chairman Lee Strattford.

Imagine a world where player availability is at the tips of your fingers and registration fees are paid back in a timely manner…what a magical world it would be.
