Colombian Player Arrested In Saudi Arabia For Jesus Tattoo

Colombian international Juan Pablo Pino of Saudi Club Al Nasr was detained in Saudi Arabia last week, after he wore a sleeveless shirt showing off his tattoos to a mall and was arrested by moral police following complaints from mall patrons.

Apparently displaying your tattoos in public is some sort of no-no under Sharia law, although we imagine the obvious Christian symbolism being displayed in one of the most overwhelmingly conservative Muslim nations in the world can’t have helped.

Pino, who was with his pregnant wife when he was detained by the moral police, later apologized to the authorities and was subsequently released after a team official contacted the police.
