Danny Simpson Has An iPad App For Some Reason

Danny Simpson is a player who, in those six eminently depressing words, began his career at Manchester United. After loan spells with Royal Antwerp, Sunderland, Ipswich Town, Blackburn Rovers, and Newcastle, he made a permanent move to the Toon, and has become an important part of Newcastle’s unlikely run into the top four. And now he has a mobile app.

That app is a game called “Danny Boy,” and it’s basically a clone of Super Mario Bros. where the lovable Italian plumber is replaced by a millionaire footballer chasing coins. No, that is in no way a stealth commentary on the mercenary nature of modern footballers. And there are burgers involved! But they’re bad for you, so don’t eat them.

The app starring the Newcastle right back can be downloaded from the iTunes store for 69p, or the equivalent in real money (we’re assuming $0.99).
