Earlier this week, Arsenal midfielder and professional catchphrase enthusiast Emmanuel Frimpong made sure the cameras caught sight of his DENCH gear as he had a post-match tête-à-tête with former Arsenal teammate Samir Nasri. Well, the FA didn’t like that.
Under FA rules, a brand may only be seen in stadiums after first forking over big piles of currency to the FA and the Premier League. The DENCH clothing line, run by a rapper and a teenage midfielder, does not yet have “Corporate money.”
The FA will let Frimpong off with a wrist-slap and a warning, but don’t bet on seeing DENCH on the field again anytime soon.
