Forbes, they of the magazine famous for counting other people’s money, turned their eye to sports the other day, and after doing their thing, declared that Champions League runners-up Manchester United are the most valuable sports team in the world.

And all the soccer fans were all like “no shit, Sherlock,” because that’s something we’ve known for a while. Anybody willing to spend that much on Bebe has got to be insanely, mindbogglingly, Scrooge McDuck levels of LOADED.

Forbes claims United are worth $1.85bn, more than the Dallas Cowboys ($1.81bn), the New York Yankees ($1.7bn), and significantly more than the next most valuable soccer clubs, Real Madrid ($1.45bn)  and Arsenal ($1.19bn).

For comparison, the GDP of Belize, a nation of more than 330,000 people, is $1.396bn. Manchester United are actually richer than a number of small countries.
