It was just a few months ago that a sullen Landon Donovan, on a desperate search to find his soccer joy again, skipped out on the USMNT and the LA Galaxy to go traipsing through Cambodia. Donovan needed a break. It happens. But when Donovan–the all-time leading scorer and set-up man in U.S. soccer history–got back, head coach Jurgen Klinsmann wasn’t about to let him walk back into the first time. So Landon is with the “B” squad, and boy is he lighting it up. His future’s so bright he’s got to wear shades–that someone threw at him from the stands in the American’s 5-1 thrashing of El Salvador on Sunday in Baltimore.

Here’s the amazing gif of Donovan trying to put on the aforementioned sunglasses courtesy of SBNation. DEAL WITH IT.

Go ahead, do your best Caruso.

“The score is 5-1 and the Salvadorans are littering the field. I guess you could say they’ve

Or don’t. Most of them are terrible.
