FIFA Street, EA’s attempt to liven up soccer’s generally subdued image in the US and make it accessible to casual gamers by making soccer more “urban” and less “soccer-ey,” was last published in 2008. Well hold on to your fitteds, targeted demographics of America, ’cause it’s coming back.

According to Matt Bilbey, EA’s guy in charge of soccer, “FIFA Street will appeal to new fans that are looking for a unique, fun soccer experience, and long-time FIFA fans looking for an authentic street soccer experience with the level of quality that they know and love from the FIFA franchise.” (Give yourself a point for every marketing buzzword you spot)

The game, due out in 2012 for Xbox 360 and PS3, will boast a bunch of features designed to make you crap rainbows from the sheer joy of it all. Like the ability to play in parking lots or city streets!
