Manchester City’s most famous celebrity fans are probably the Gallagher brothers, Noel and Liam, the songwriting genius behind and the sneering face fronting the greatest band in the history of music. Well, when the two brothers have had to watch City through the bad years, as Maine Road fell apart and the club was relegated to the third tier, they’re allowed to unwind a bit and celebrate City’s triumph.
Liam Gallagher, the less talented and occasionally annoying but still incredibly talented one, celebrated with a bit of beer throwing while a foreign pundit misidentified him as “Niall.”
Noel, on the other hand, was on tour, but was able to watch from a pub. He described his experience to the BBC’s Colin Paterson, including the memorable line “I don’t remember what happened after that, but I remember swearing a lot.“
