These boots were made for sambaing and that’s just what they’ll do. One of these days these boots are gonna samba all over you. Or at least that’s what Brazilian soccer manufacturer Penalty hopes will happen. You may not have heard of the company yet, but they already have partnerships with a number of the biggest clubs in Brazil, including Portuguesa, Santa Cruz, and Vasco da Gama, and are now trying to make their way into the European market, having just signed their first truly big name player.
Who, you ask? FC Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes. Valdes has agreed to wear Penalty boots and gloves for the next five years, starting with the S11 Pro gloves and S11 Ultra boots. The thing that you’ll instantly notice about both products is just how bright they are. Penalty are trying to make a splash, and with yellows and neon greens all over the place they’re sure to catch the eye.
Penalty’s page for the S11 Ultra boots says that the boot is “a mix of both technology and irreverence. The best and most joyful way to the goal.” Now if they could find a new copy writer and someone to do a better job of translating to English, we might just have a serious new competitor on our hands.
