It’s a good thing Lucas Barrios is on his way, because Chinese Super League leaders Guangzhou Evergrande will be without the services of their Argentinian star Conca for the foreseeable future. After microblogging his displeasure about being substituted in a AFC Champions League loss, Conca was banned for nine games by the club. Now, Conca is being investigated by the Asia Football Confederation for bringing his two-month old son onto the field before that same match and giving him a kiss in front of the Guangzhou supporters. The horror.

Conca was directly told that children were not allowed on the playing surface, but grabbed his son anyway. In defying the official and bringing little Benjamin onto the field, Conca set himself up to be “investigated.”

An Asian Football Confederation (AFC) spokesman said Conca, who became one of the world’s best paid players when he joined the Chinese club, was being probed over the incident at this month’s match with Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors.

“The case is currently under investigation for potential violation by the player of the rules and regulations of the competition,” a spokesman told AFP.

Either he did or he didn’t. What needs to be investigated?

And what’s the ban for baby-kissing, exactly?
