My internal dialog has few consistent refrains. Among them are things like “People should use their turn signals” and “BaLOLtelli.” But the one most persistent thought that pops into my brain more than any other—to the point that I was on the verge of considering counseling to combat the problem because it was starting to border on obsession—is “I wish Ray Hudson was on Twitter.” Today, the refrain can stop. Ray is on Twitter.
It’s official, I’m finally on twitter! Let’s talk some serious footie!

Thanks new followers…bear with me though, I’m v new to this twitting business. Will do my best to keep you amused

If you’re not familiar with Ray’s work calling La Liga, South American, and various other leagues alongside play-by-play partner Phil Schoen, here’s your introduction. Go head, click and watch. we’ll wait.
Ray’s Twitter profile describes him as “Verbal gymnast, former soccer player & disco man!”. I’m already giddy with anticipation. Seems fitting he’s a “disco man” when there’s a Messi tribute dance track with Ray’s vocals.
How do we know it’s the man himself and not one of the many parody (and tribute) accounts on Twitter? Because Ray’s broadcast partner confirmed it.
And for all of you asking – that is the real @rayhudson I tried for years, but @reynagaga got it done in 5 minutes.

Can Ray be as entertaining on Twitter as he is calling a Lionel Messi goal? Maybe not, but even if he’s 1/10th of his enraptured self, he’s worth a follow.
Ray and Phil have moved over to the Al Jazeera-owned beIN Sport Network, which might or might not be showing up on your TV provider of choice in the near future.
