Real Salt Lake and the New England Revolution played each other to a 3-3 draw on Monday, a match that included some of the worst refereeing this side of an Equatorial Guinea-Australia Women’s World Cup game.
After a questionable penalty gave New England an early lead and a man advantage, things came back around when RSL was awarded an debatable pen of their own. RSL manager Jason Kreis and New England head man Steve Nicol “shared a moment” over some of the controversy, leading to Kreis to give us the above bit of television gold when RSL scored a late equalizer.
