Unless your some little spoiled brat who was born post 1991, you would know that soccer video gaming wasn’t always impossibly perfect ball physics and user-controlled robotic celebrations.

No, there was a time when soccer looked like it does in that video above of Atari 2600 RealSports Soccer.

AAAAAHHH!!!!! I WAS BORN IN 1991!!!!!! WTF IS THAT VIDEO!?!??!!?!!!

Anyway the folks at Red Bull, who are apparently very keen on soccer these days, have created a pretty terrific list chronicling the evolution of the soccer video gaming industry. Although it’s pretty freaking difficult to read (seriously, web designers at Red Bull?), we suggest that you get a little nostalgic and do just that. There’s everything from Intellivision Soccer to the madness that appears to be the new Beta fueled I Am Playr.

We’ve come a long way, baby. And all I can really do is be thankful that I never had to play NES Soccer. Or Super Monkey Ball for that matter…
