Guys in at football matches in funny black robes with weird logos on them. Spaceships. Black cars. Asian gardens. Franz Beckenbauer doing some really, really, epically bad acting. ALIENS. What does it all mean? Who freaking knows, but it’s apparently Samsung’s new marketing campaign #GALAXY11. The latest part of the push is the “selection” of various famous players, each with their own videos. Messi is the captain because of course.

You remember the guys in the robes, right? FREAKY (but not, because duh).

Beckenbauer says they’re aliens, threatening the human race. And that weird logo is the insignia of their race. HEY LOOK IT HAS A FOOTBALL IN IT HOW CONVENIENT.

Franz is challenging those guys to a match to determine the fate of the planet. Guys, it’s Space Jam for soccer, but without the fun part (the Loony Tunes and Charles Barkley).

As for the players making up the human team, here you go:

If you don’t want to sit through all of the vids, your #GALAXY11 (hashtag) is: Wu Lei, Wayne Rooney, Oscar, Victor Moses, Landon Donovan, Iker Casillas, Lionel Messi, Stephan El Shaarawy, Falcao, and Lee Chung-Yong.

For a team “defending” Earth, we’re suffering from a supreme lack of defenders. What do you mean attacking players are more marketable? Shut your face.

Still…we got this. Wait, what I mean is–IT’S MARKETING. The aliens aren’t real. And Franz is a terrible actor. Bet whatever phone this is for is amazing, though.
