Upon closer inspection of the National Football League and American football kickers, you’ll notice a lot of them wear soccer boots on their kicking foot because they offer a better range of motion than the traditional football cleats. Most of them go for the traditional black or white boots and many tend to stick to the class, no-frill Nike Tiempo Legend or Adidas Copa Mundial boots.

We at KCKRS love a good boot-spot and seeing what Texas Longhorns kicker Justin Tucker was wearing on his feet was a pleasant surprise. Recognize them? Those are the latest iteration of Cristiano Ronaldo’s Nike Mercurial Vapor Superfly Safari and boy, are they bright.

Tucker has always leaned toward soccer boots, having played the sport until the middle of high school and when asked about his penchant for the flash footwear by the Austin-American Statesman, he said:

“I get told by members of the officiating crews that ‘we keep running after your feet because we think they are penalty flags.’”

Next week, he’ll claim that the opposition hates him because he is “rich, handsome and a great player.”
