The Seattle Sounders beat the Portland Timbers 1-0 at Century Link Field last night in front of a near MLS-record crowd of 67,385. While the game itself was the story, and Clint Dempsey made his home debut in Rave Green, there might have been more entertainment in the stands than on the faux grass surface. Starting with the Emerald City Supporters’ epic tifo, the game was rich with visual goodness. Pics below.

Here’s some background on the ECS tifo, which is 37,000 sq ft and required 70 gallons of paint.

Of course the Timbers fans who traveled up the coast brought their own display. Anything Wu Tang-related gets a thumbs up from us.

Beyond the tifos, there were smaller banners and signs interspersed in the Seattle crowd. Check it.
