Struck by the breadth and message of the Brazilian protests, the makers of The Simpsons plan to produce an episode for the upcoming season revolving around the uprising. The show last did a Brazilian-focused show in 2002, when an episode rife with cliches and sterotypes about Brazil angered then-president Fernando Henrique Cardoso. Producer James L. Brooks was forced to apologize in the aftermath.

We can only hope that this new Brazil-themed episode features more of The Simpsons interacting with the world of soccer. And fewer stereotypes.
