After the game against Algeria in which Landon Donovan scored THAT goal, he kicked the ball into the stands in a moment of mindless celebration. Two years later, the lucky U.S. fans who got the ball are re-uniting it with the hero who lifted a nation with his added time goal. And because they’re such awesome guys, they’re donating the ball to the U.S. Soccer Hall Of Fame collection*.

*So there’s not actually a U.S. Soccer Hall Of Fame right now, as the building up in Oneonta, New York was shuttered due to lack of funds. Surely some team like Seattle or Kansas City can put up the dough for a building/staff if the Fed gives them the collection on indefinite loan for free? Someone get on that.
