Remember back in ’06 when the big boys from the US, ranked fourth in the world heading into the World Cup, got smacked 3-0 by the Czech Republic in their first game on the way to being bounced from the tourney after the group stage? That really sucked. Let’s pretend this is revenge.

These U-17′s were about 12 years old when that went down, but maybe they took this as their shot at revenge for their elder soccer playing heroes.

In the opening game of this summer’s youth world cup, the United States reversed the score line and put up three pretty amazing goals on the Czech youth. Check the highlights.

The g-notes came from midfielders Alejandro Guido, Esteban Rodriguez and forward Alfred Koroma giving the Americans their first win to open group play in the U-17 World Cup since 2005. Be sure to keep an eye on these kids. They could do some damage in this tournament and in the future.
