Yes, Virginia, Wayne Rooney does have hair plugs.

I’ll admit, I really thought it was a hoax or more likely some attempt to plug (hehe) a product called Hair We Go. But apparently the apex of social media and one-to-many communication is allowing football fans to find out about a footballer’s hair transplant from the man himself (and his wife) rather than a tabloid.

Of the photo, Rooney tweeted:

Hi all there’s my head. It will take a few months to grow. Still a bit bloody to. But that’s all normal.

Still a “bit bloody”? Thanks for that, now my cereal is a “bit vomity”.  When he first hinted at them, all I wanted to see was the picture but I immediately regret it. You can see the stitches, a giant scab, and I can’t help but be reminded of Tobias in the hair plug episode of Arrested Development (especially since I watched it last night), or possibly this guy:

I wonder what hairstyle Rooney will go for. Surely the first port of call for a man with new hair is to grow it long? That would be a wonderful day in football history.
